Hello-
I'm Yvette. A student studying at John Cabot Academy Sixth Form and over the next few months I will be giving you an insight into one of my projects for Media Studies. I'll be frequently posting on this page to keep you updated. My project is to make a 2 minute film opening clip. In order to do this I will have to research and develop into ideas and aquire new skills to the best of my ability.

Evaluation-Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
Looking back earlier in the year at my preliminary task I feel as if i have progressed my ability in being able to set up simple shots and see what works well and what doesn't. I have also developed my skills on the editing machine as i couldn't previously remember much from doing media before.I have also learnt how important it is to plan, although in the group I was in, we planned everything it didn't always work and we ended up changing the main idea several times but we found one that worked. By this time the deadline was a lot shorter which meant everything was rushed therefore we may not of got to of tried the kind of effects etc we might of used. However i did feel as if my skills had developed on the editing machines . When watching a film i can easily pick out what aspects of media are thought about. E.g Lighting, props, clothing, shot types and the relationshop on screen. I found it easy to realise what looked good in films and what didn't. It was then about applying my knowledge from that to my own 2 minute clip. I also managed to progress what i already knew and now have a wider range of media knowledge.
