Hello-

I'm Yvette. A student studying at John Cabot Academy Sixth Form and over the next few months I will be giving you an insight into one of my projects for Media Studies. I'll be frequently posting on this page to keep you updated. My project is to make a 2 minute film opening clip. In order to do this I will have to research and develop into ideas and aquire new skills to the best of my ability.

Target audience and feedback.

Our target audience was teenegers and either gender , above the age of 15. We got the replies of some people who are most likely to watch our film. This is what they said -

Jade -''The tense music helps build up atmosphere''
We purposly chose to do slower music so that this is the response we got, it works well as there isn't any dialect, and as its purposly not die-agetic it makes it more tense. The character on screen doesnt notice the music but because the audience can it's dramatic for them.

Billy- ''It's scary even though not alot happens, you think something is going to soon''
Originally our idea was to have an ouija board, however this wouldnt work as it gave away the storyline straight away. To start with we've just included establishing shots of the scenary and long shots and over the shoulder shots, as weve not used close ups it doesnt show the audience what emotion is on the character's faces.

Shakira- "The special effects really add to the tension''
As its two characters (boy/girl) we decided to make the difference between both scenaries more obvious. To make it so the audience established this quicker we changed the colours and added a tint. It was similiar to a brownish cololur which helps the viewer to realise that bit of the clip is in the past.

Jordan- " What was going on, is easy to follow''
As not alot is happening  apart from walking its easy to follow, the cross cuts between each character is easy to establish. Along with the editting  in time spam, its easy to notice therefore as an audience you automatically notice the difference and realise its the same location still.

Will- ''I liked the effects however i didnt understand the relationship between the two characters''
There isnt actually a relationsihip. character A (girl) is unaware of character B(boy). We didnt show them knowing eachother as that was the whole point of the storyline. We used the effects so that the audience could realise the difference in time as to when they were at the same place, if were going to re-do the project, we tried to make it obvious and maybe go for black &white instead.
